POSITION SUMMARY:

The Analyst - Business Systems, Cerner, supports requests and incidents for facilities in the current support of Cerner Systems, as well as provides technology support for all LifePoint Health facilities. Provides pharmacy and clinical support throughout the life medication cycle. Assist in the deployment of all technologies for upgrades to various systems. The position assists in the design, implementation, and build within the Cerner System related to the medication management processes and related technology. It will work directly with hospitals, setting up configurations in the system(s), reviewing processes, providing training, testing, and facilitating a go-live process, as well as offering ongoing support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for all aspects of support for LifePoint Health facilities, including but not limited to:

  • Training and oversight of building, maintaining clinical information systems, assisting in ensuring that policies are being followed, establishing, maintaining, and ensuring that the pharmacy department understands the process and appropriateness of retaining the Cerner information system.

  • Experience or education in the fields of information systems, informatics, or pharmacy services is required.

  • Build experience in Cerner Millennium (PharmNet/PowerChart)

  • Testing - (test script creation/validation)

  • Strong experience with Excel, pivot tables, and crosswalk of data.

  • Experience building order set catalogues, formularies, order sentences, and power plans related to the medication process.

  • Post request/incident resolution with Hospital Support Center (HSC) SMEs, and LifePoint facilities to ensure systems are performing as designed and to coordinate any needed activities to ensure continued compliance and efficiency of clinical information systems.

  • Support data analytics needs for operations and HSC business owners.

  • Fulfill duties and responsibilities assigned or delegated by the Manager, Director, and above.

  • Engages facility pharmacy staff, vendors, and others, both from HSC and the individual facilities, to support the use of the technology and information contained in the clinical information systems.

  • Support short and long-term operational/strategic business activities by developing, enhancing, and maintaining operational information.

  • Assist the facilities in maintaining clinical information systems.

  • Documenting and optimizing workflows for respective solutions in the Cerner environment.

  • Experience building Oncology Power-Plans is a plus.

  • Experience with CCL and Discern Rule Writing experience is a plus.

  • Formulary Service Vendor Updates (Multum).

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:

Qualifications:

  • Clinical Designation or licensure in Pharmacy - CPhT Required

  • Must Have At least 2-5 years of implementation and support experience with Cerner Millennium PharmNet.

Education:

-Minimum Education: HS Diploma.

- Preferred College Degree.

Knowledge:

- 2-5 Years Cerner PharmNet experience required.

- 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience

Skills:

  • Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.

  • Technical Computer Skills: Demonstrate the use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages.

  • Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations.

  • Motivate and persuade others. Varied Business Problems - Problems are diverse and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation.

  • Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents, and practices.
