Collections Resolution Manager

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The Collections Resolution Manager will optimize BluSky's collections efforts while driving resolution to aged receivables. This role is responsible for working directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure teams are bringing resolutions to some of our most aged and high dollar receivables.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE:
  • Increase the collections velocity on aged receivables through internal and external outreach to understand current updates on large or aged receivables, identify root causes of non-collection, document next action(s), and when actions are to be completed.
  • Track collections actions to ensure offices and customers are working towards resolution of our receivables.
  • Identify aged receivables that have had no movement, prioritize, and develop rapid responses.
  • Escalating non-collections or significant collection challenges to appropriate internal parties.
  • Request demand letters to be sent to customer and other parties from Specialist.
  • Develop steps and actions that lead to collections.
  • Develop standardized work tools and consolidated reports to effectively work across multiple locations.
  • Evaluate project documents, AR health, office collection attempts, diagnose impediments to make improvements and increase office collections.
  • Request/follow up with offices as needed to submit incomplete billing related documents or information to ensure the timely release of payments.
  • Research and review status and documentation related to outstanding accounts receivables to help get collection efforts back on preferred track.
  • Identify recurring issues, pinch points, or general best practices and work to disseminate across the organization.
  • Ensure liens are filed on a timely basis either by office or requested of Collection Specialist.
  • Contact aged customers (as requested) and determine reasons for non-payment and attempt to resolve.
  • Understand what is important to the client to help resolve issues/disputes such as determining if a discount or credit is reasonable/appropriate to expedite payment within standard guidelines or if a payment plan is appropriate and within standard guidelines.
  • Management of AR Progress Updates in AR Tracker Spreadsheets and reporting office assessments as needed to management and stakeholders.
  • Weekly status calls with the Director of Collections to review progress, collections, problem issues, etc.
  • Document all communications with Customers in PSA.
  • Assist with other projects or duties as assigned by Director of Collections.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • May lead a team of specialists.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven track record of executing plans, improving and maintaining speed and efficiency of collecting past due accounts receivable, reducing aged receivables and improving collection cycles.
  • Strong understanding of collections laws, regulations, and compliance standards in both commercial and consumer markets.
  • Experience working with legal departments on escalated collection matters.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to develop and implement processes, policies, and documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, preferred depth of experience, and other relevant education also considered.
TRAVEL:
  • Minimal travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.
