MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented MAGTF Planner to join our team in Stafford, VA
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Refine Marine Corps positions in OSD and Joint Staff planning; represent USMC in Joint/OSD working groups and wargames.
- Lead MAGTF working groups and integrate Marine Corps vision into future force development and emerging OSD plans.
- Maintain awareness of Joint and Marine Corps initiatives, ensuring USMC capabilities are reflected in DoD-level strategies.
- Prepare SITREPs, planning documentation, and support the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and FYDP process.
- Brief senior officials, coordinate across HQMC, OSD, Joint Staff, and act as authoritative analyst on USMC planning.
- Analyze and advise on MAGTF force offerings, operational scenarios, and long-range USMC/DoD warfighting strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 8+ years in military or defense planning experience.
- Experience with Joint Staff and OSD planning processes.
- Expertise in MAGTF structure and Marine Corps doctrine.
- Strong communication and briefing skills.
- Familiarity with FYDP and POM cycles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Command and Staff College graduate or PME equivalent.
- Experience with Joint Staff working groups or OSD-level planning.
- HQMC or DoD policy influence experience.
- Knowledge of Combatant Command IPLs and FAA processes.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess a current/active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for SCI and SAP access
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse duties, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
