Overview:

Sinai Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Infusion team on a PRN basis. This role is ideal for an experienced RN with a strong clinical foundation, a passion for patient-centered care, and an interest in outpatient infusion services. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and support optimal patient outcomes through thoughtful clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document thorough and accurate clinical assessments.

  • Identify and prioritize patient and family needs, developing and evaluating individualized plans of care.

  • Implement evidence-based nursing interventions and modify plans to meet evolving clinical goals.

  • Identify discharge planning needs early and coordinate comprehensive discharge support in collaboration with other team members.

  • Utilize clinical algorithms, guidelines, and protocols to inform decision-making.

  • Recognize personal limitations and proactively involve the broader healthcare team when appropriate.

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.

  • Provide compassionate care that respects patient rights, dignity, and cultural backgrounds.

  • Perform hourly rounding and manage patient symptoms with appropriate comfort measures.

  • Delegate tasks effectively while ensuring quality and timely follow-up.

  • Engage in professional communication and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards.

  • Educate patients and families about treatments, health promotion, and disease prevention throughout the care process.

  • Participate in peer review, staff meetings, councils, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain annual competencies and pursue opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Use current research, clinical guidelines, and data to inform and improve nursing practice.

  • Assist in clinical innovations, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives.

  • Support the education and development of peers and students, serving as a preceptor or introductory charge nurse as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse License – Active Maryland RN license or eligibility to obtain.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Must be current.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience in infusion therapy, oncology, or outpatient settings preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

  • Effective communication and teaching skills.

  • Cultural sensitivity and a patient-centered approach to care.
