Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends are variable based on unit needs.

Special Requests: No Block Scheduling.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Perform feeding tube care and management, including IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance.
• Monitor telemetry readings, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient conditions.
• Experience in oncology-specific procedures such as chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experienced Oncology

• The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with various cancers, including endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers. Our unit specializes in providing treatments such as chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and CBI, with a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls management.

• Endometrial cancer
• Bladder cancer
• Renal cancer
• Ovarian cancer
• Cervical cancer
• Hysterectomy
• Cystectomy

Equipment Used on Unit:

• Epidurals
• PCA pumps
• NG tubes
• Foley catheters

Special Requests: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Previous Employment Requirements:

• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
