Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

Required Skills/Experience: Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Post MI, Feeding tube care and management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, PCA, CVA, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Preferred Skills/Experience: Skills Preferred: Accessing Ports, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Surgical drains, Interpretation of ABGs, Community Hospital

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, TIA, Syncope, Arrhythmias, Atrial Fibrillation, COPD, HF, Diabetes

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Cardiac Monitoring, Stroke Assessments

Special Requests:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Floating Requirements: SM3/SM4/NM4

Details:

You will not interview with the hiring manager if the facility chooses to extend an offer to you for this position. All time off requests must be submitted at application.
