What You’ll Do
Repair and maintain industrial equipment to include conveying systems, major machine centers such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgersAble to read and understand drawings and printed instructionsMust be a self-starter who can work safely under high pressure situationsPossess basic understanding in line ups of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, machine centersMust be able to move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucksAdjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary partsAlign machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb toolsAssemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power toolsLay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drillReplace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving partsLevel bedplate and establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transitDismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand toolsAttach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power toolsBe on time, every time your role matters here

MUST-HAVE (Non-Negotiables)
High School Diploma or GEDMust be able to pass a Millwright Assessment test and hands-on assessment at our millMust be willing to travel a few times a year to complete the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training coursesAbility to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime to support 24/7 operationsAbility to follow all West Fraser safety policies and proceduresAbility to communicate clearly and respectfully with team membersAbility to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shiftAbility to work in outdoor environments and loud, high-volume conditionsSuccessful completion of a background check, drug screen, and physical
NICE-TO-HAVE(Preferred but not required)
Cutting touch and welding experience1-3 years of Millwright work experience in Industrial/Manufacturing settingPositive employee referral or professional referenceInterest in learning new skills and cross-training over timeDemonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment
