JOB DESCRIPTION:

Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist is responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Contact customers directly by phone ( or other communication methods as necessary, i.e. email, collection agencies, etc.) each day– high daily volumes
  • Determine reason for overdue payment and negotiate payment plans.
  • Reconciles customer aged accounts and research accuracy of any balance disputes.
  • Assist customers with billing and service issues preventing prompt payment
  • Establishes contact with debtors for the purpose of collecting past due balances while keeping strict adherence to all FDCAP, FCRA, and TCPA regulations.
  • Monitors and follows up on payment status of accounts and documents all collection efforts in ERP.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly status update for delinquent accounts and detailed payment collection efforts to accounting manager.

 

Performs credit checks

  • Evaluates credit ability of customer to pay within assigned terms
  • Makes recommendations to establish credit terms associated with payment history.
  • Records information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts
