JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Lead Network Architect is responsible for the team that provides support, design, administration, configuration and troubleshooting of the Brock enterprise networks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Design, Implementation and Support for the Enterprise Network Infrastructure to include security, routing, switching and telephony (VoIP).
  • Develop, Implement and Improve operational processes, procedures and documentation that will be used to build and maintain the enterprise environment.
  • Troubleshoot, Research and Resolve issues reported via Helpdesk, Monitoring or End Users.
  • Performs equipment testing and configuration prior to installation into the production network through the Change Control process.
  • Proactively monitors the environment for issues, failures or opportunities to improve performance and availability.
  • Analyze and present analysis of traffic statistics and trends to develop metrics for the data and VOIP networks.
  • Assist in the design and selection of future technologies and architecture for the enterprise.
  • Perform research and testing to support these activities.
  • Provide leadership and management to Network team members to align with appropriate goals around support, performance and availability.
  • Work with various partners within IT, the company and the vendor community to ensure goals are being met.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Network Equipment (Cisco Switches, Miraki, VeloCloud, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) including MPLS and IP networks.
  • Strong working knowledge of monitoring solutions (SolarWinds).
  • Strong working knowledge of VoIP technology implementations and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead both people and projects with success.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot complex issues in a team environment and as an individual.
  • Excellent presentation, communication & customer interaction skills. Familiar with metric based performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Familiar with Network Design to include routing, switching, VoIP in both corporate and remote environments.

 

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

  • 9+ years of experience building complex Corporate and Remote networks.
  • 2+ years of leading teams as direct reports or within a project framework.
  • Strong working knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) including MPLS and IP networks.
  • Strong working knowledge of VoIP technology implementations and support.
  • Cisco Certification Required and familiar with PCI and/or SOX standards is a definite plus.
