Poultry Procurement

The Poultry Procurement Specialist is accountable for managing the company’s daily poultry procurement responsibilities. Principle accountabilities include negotiating procurement arrangements, manage daily procurement duties and challenges in a way that creates positive outcomes aligned with company profit and product quality objective, buying savings that will contribute to margin growth opportunities, improving current supplier relationships and finding new suppliers. Secondary Accountabilities to include generating sales revenue through Martin Poultry Trading Division, by realizing opportunities within poultry product mix.


  • Manage “Day on Inventory” Objectives for purchased poultry products
  • Analyze and Calculate Daily Poultry Inventory Levels of raw material, wip, and finished goods.
  • Coordinate Daily Purchase Orders for Suppliers to meet deadlines established
  • Coordinate Daily with Poultry Production and Scheduling teams to insure raw material demand is accurately accounted for and proper product rotation is achieved.
  • Effectively communicate to suppliers any deficiencies and quality issues of inbound raw materials
  • Negotiate Procurement arrangements for Poultry Raw Material needs.
  • Perform Weekly Market Cost and Trend Analysis compared to existing contract pricing in order to take advantage of savings opportunities and profit maximization.
  • Set quarterly benchmarks around cost savings, new product development with existing suppliers, and new supplier relationship creation.
  • Manage all aspects of the poultry raw material supply chain. Communicate regularly with EVP of Poultry about Industry Trends, opportunities, market conditions, and possible obstacles so that Strategic Decisions can be made.
  • Communicate with Sales regarding product availability requests and daily raw material shortages.
  • Identify Sales opportunities with Qualified Existing and New Martin Poultry Trading accounts

Must be able to lift up to 100lbs

Temperatures range from 40-45 degrees


  • BS required
  • BBA preferred
  • MUST have a minimum of 5 years or more of experience in the poultry industry with a strong background in commodity plant sales.
  • Extensive experience in the Fully Integrated Sector of the poultry industry.
