Maintenance Technician


Operate Goodwill vehicle to answer maintenance calls. Complete daily work orders as assigned by manager. And to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation and stewardship of Goodwill facilities and equipment to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the maintenance manager for daily assignments.
  • Perform remodeling duties as assigned.
  • Hang sheetrock/paint when necessary.
  • Perform A/C maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Change light bulbs when as needed.
  • Perform some duties involving electrical outlets and other forms of electricity.
  • Assist with clean up of work areas and vehicles.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude to the general public and staff at all times.
  • Adherence to all Goodwill policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to ensure that all production guidelines and deadlines are met.
  • Conduct self in a safe manner; report all injuries immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Apartment make ready or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must pass MVR.
  • HVAC or electrician helper preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate and cooperate with the public and department staff at all times.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team oriented, fast paced environment.
  • Must have punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Successfully complete job specific checklist within 90 days of employment.
  • Assist with the security and safety of company employees and property.
  • Free from alcohol and drugs.

Hand tools, power tools, company vehicle and safety equipment.

Specific vision abilities are required by this job including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment includes regular exposure to outdoor temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
