JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist the Department in directly managing the information systems and computer services for the district. Oversee assigned projects and tasks to ensure efficient and effective completion. Serve as a mentor to other employees within the technology department to help them achieve their full potential.

 

The position requires sitting for long periods, but can also be physically demanding at times requiring the ability to bend, lift, crouch, kneel, reach and walk in order to perform the essential functions. The person who fills this position must be able to work independently, be intrinsically motivated, procedurally disciplined in the face of peer pressure, highly organized, and detail oriented while focusing on the needs of our customers. Position requires reliable transportation to travel between multiple campuses when required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Four verifiable years of experience in a technical role meeting the skills listed above.
  • Two years successful experience in a leadership role is highly desirable.
  • Some experience and education substitutions may be made with military experience on a case by case basis depending on your occupational specialty.
  • Some education substitutions may be made based on years of verifiable experience and or industry certifications on a case by case basis.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate must have an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in a related field or equivalent verifiable work experience. K-12 environment strongly preferred.
  • Candidate must have at least one of the following Microsoft certifications: MCSA, MCSE, MCSM, or equivalent verifiable work experience. K-12 environment strongly preferred.
  • Some education substitutions may be made with military experience on a case by case basis depending on your occupational specialty.

  • Must have extensive knowledge of configuration, support, and failure analysis of desktop hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems is required.
  • Working knowledge of Windows server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 required.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Office 365 environment in K-12 is highly desired.
  • Strong working knowledge of desktop image creation, testing, and deployment in an enterprise environment is required.
  • Strong Desktop and Network application troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Software deployment scripting knowledge is required. Experience in KACE is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols including but not limited to DNS and DHCP is required.
  • Working knowledge of networking infrastructure design (Wired and Wireless) is required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain network/systems documentation and technical assistance manuals is required.
  • Working knowledge and hands on management experience with HP Aruba wired and wireless networking products is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft SQL is an advantage.
  • Microsoft Exchange management experience is an advantage.
  • Experience managing a BroadSoft hosted VoIP solution is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong project management and time management skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate with large and small groups is required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines is required.
  • Ability to focus on all levels of detail while managing technology related projects is required.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot issues of all types is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between facilities daily (mileage reimbursement program).
  • Must have the ability to meet the physical demands of this position which includes but not limited to long periods of standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Must have the ability to physically lift 50lbs of varying size technology equipment repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to continue growing your technical skill set.
  • Will perform other duties as required.
