The Site Safety Supervisor performs, supports, assists and conducts activities of the Brock job site. This will include and not be limited to all activities of the corporate, client and site safety and health programs. This individual may be in a dual position – safety / supervisor, foreman on smaller sites.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure site is following and complying with all Brock and client Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and requirements.
  • Manage the sites VPP effort and ensure the VPP binders are consistently and constantly maintained with appropriate, relevant and updated information.
  • Ensure sites compliance with the 4 elements of VPP.
  • Develop and conduct site Safety and Health orientation for new and/or rehired employees.
  • Manage incidents to ensure lowest possible impact to employee and company. Develop and present safety meetings and training as needed and required.
  • Establish treatment centers at project locations in case of medical need. Formulate relationship with local occupational physician.
  • Develop site incident/injury management protocol and ensure it is followed.
  • Maintain a professional interface with clients, management, supervisors and employees.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationship at all levels.
  • Maintain site readiness for company and client audits. (ie, PSM)
  • Perform all duties in an independent manner.
  • Maintain flexibility and work with changing priorities as needed.
  • Provide notification of anticipated absences.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Perform multiple daily job site visitations and auditing.
  • Perform quarterly site audit as described in Brock Safety and Health Manual procedure B.4.b, using the Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance Audit form.
  • Maintain record review and retention.
  • Provide a weekly incident summary to BMI Director, HSE each Monday morning by 8 am.
  • Provide First-Aid treatment when certified and appropriate.
  • Review, evaluate, analyze THA’s, HAP’s, and BEST Observations
  • Ensure monitoring equipment is calibrated at least monthly, ie. H2S, Co2, etc.
  • Complete all required metric and statistical reports as required.
  • Communicate and document audits, both formal and informal.
  • Perform monitoring activities as needed; i.e., air sampling, noise sampling, etc.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and ensure timely completion of reports, etc.
  • Perform multiple B.E.S.T. observations daily and evaluate trends.

  • Support the Brock Substance Abuse Program.
  • Review incoming safety correspondence and act accordingly.
  • Review new chemicals and MSDS’s. Maintain site MSDS book and chemical inventory.
  • Provide on-going support for project safety related needs.
  • Conduct required training and maintain site training matrix.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2 – 4 years experience in a safety related field or combination of field, education and time.
  • Same as Safety Technician.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Brock Drivers Card.
  • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position.
  • Certification through national recognized boards (CHST, OHST, ASP). Must receive one of these designations within 2 years of initial employment date and/or eligibility. Failure to achieve certification will reflect performance evaluation and future pay raises.
