JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist the IT Manager in supporting corporate desktop environment. IT Support Tech will be responsible for phone/remote support and going out in the field when needed as well as managing activities & support / service tickets. Providing a high level of technical assistance to the MPF team when needed.

Primary Job Duties

  • Assist in maintaining desktop environment of user computers.
  • Assist in supporting IT equipment in production environments.
  • Respond to user request for IT assistance.
  • Assist with creation of written IT procedures.
  • Assist with asset tracking and general documentation maintenance.
  • Assist in testing software applications
  • PC configuration, swaps and setups.
  • Creation of new user accounts.
  • General office equipment support including contacting vendor for support.
  • Assist with general audio-visual support.
  • Handle routine activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Consistently monitor health of environment, both in terms of desktop performance and overall system health.
  • Assist in supporting scan gun devices, access points, Wi-Fi sensors.
  • Assist as needed in other areas of the company’s IT footprint.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

The work environment is characteristic of a standard office environment with the

majority of time spent at a computer or on the telephone; however, time will be spent in

various other departments such as the warehouse and production plants. The initial

required work schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

College graduate in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar undergraduate or graduate degrees strongly preferred with minimum 2 years’ hands on experience in similar a role. Ability to troubleshoot IT related issues (PC, printer, network, wireless network, Smartphone, Audio/Visual). Must have aptitude to make resolve problems quickly and effectively, be flexible to perform simultaneous job functions, prioritize work in stressful situations, excellent communication skills, well organized and detail oriented. Because of the vast levels of support throughout the organization, must maintain confidentiality where appropriate.

 

Required: Hardware support: desktop / laptops computers, computer peripherals, printers /

scanners and working knowledge of MS Office and MS Windows.

Desired: CompTIA A+ certification. Experience conference room audio video equipment.

Hands-on experience with the latest versions of the following technologies; VMWare, Office

365, VEEAM, Microsoft SQL, ConnectWise, Dell Hardware, Ubiquiti Unifi, and Active

Directory.

 

This position requires the employee to be on their feet regularly, use hands and fingers to

handle and/or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

The employee will need to frequently stand and walk. This position requires the

employee to regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must

occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this

job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Some portions of the work

environment are within areas where temperatures may be below 40 degrees.
