Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operations of all production and building systems; including, but not limited to, production automation, appliances, and building equipment. This position responds to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action and completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including the maintenance of building equipment and systems (e.g. HVAC equipment and electrical systems) and production equipment troubleshooting and repair
Daily responsibilities include performing preventative and reactive maintenance on any facility system and assisting manufacturing technicians (MT) with process and machinery repairs and improvements
Supports a cleanroom manufacturing and non-sterile lab environments, which utilize manual, automated, and semi-automated equipment in a critical environment
Develops preventive maintenance schedules and/or procedures
Maintains daily equipment, facility, and HVAC inspections
Promptly responds to requests for repairs and work orders and include parts and inventory used
Solves technical issues by identifying root cause(s) and identifying both short-term and long-term countermeasures
Inspects the quality of third party and/or MT repairs
Responsible for inventory control, ordering of replacement parts, tools, and supplies through purchasing. Conducts physical parts inventories
Records and documents working history on all equipment for facilities and engineering via a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Leads non-supervisory employees and other staff that may include contractors, consultants, and/or temporary employees
Manages projects and develops associated documentation
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns
Performs well under limited supervision
Requires a flexible work schedule which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
Effectively communicates with all Empower staff and maintenance team
Knowledge and Skills
Organized self-starter with advancedproblem-solving ability
Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems, electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems; including air compressors, HVAC systems, boilers, and water/air cooled chillers
Must be trained and qualified to enter an ISO classified cleanroom under operator standards set by the Quality and Manufacturing teams
Ability to gown into classified cleanroom within 15 minutes of notice from manufacturing operators reporting issues
Ability to work in a clean manner in manufacturing areas
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Experience in performing NIST Calibrations recommended
Ability to use basic hand and power tools/equipment: such as hand drill, forklift, and scissor lift
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Project management skills a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office 365
Must be able to communicate effectively in English verbally and orally
Ability to research parts, drawings, diagrams, and schematics
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
Experience and Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.Advanced degree or trade school preferred
Previous military experience valued
2+ years of facilities maintenance experience, with a focus in equipment operations and preventative maintenance procedures, preferably in a cGMP regulated environment
Previous experience with maintaining/managing equipment; both building and production
