Fit and weld natural gas meter, regulator sets and other natural gas delivery products from raw materials according to blue print specifications in accordance with API 1104 certification standards and procedures.



  • Minimum of one year of experience in welding and pipe fitting.
  • Must pass 6G Butt and Tee Branch welding tests.
  • Must test to API 1104 certification.
  • Submit to pre-employment and random drug and/or alcohol tests as required by DOT.
  • Experience with turntable welding preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to read and interpret blue prints and mechanical drawings.


Key responsibilities and accountability:

  • Receive project raw materials and match to corresponding blue prints/mechanical drawings.
  • Cut and prep pipe for use in project.
  • Fit and weld project in accordance to blue print/mechanical drawing specifications, and API 1104.
  • Accurately maintain required records and documentation for each project.
    • Document each weld in corresponding project log.
    • Maintain project time card.
    • Keep project drawing, project log and project time card together.
    • Maintain all “rework” documents including “rework” time card.
  • Maintain and report on assigned workstation equipment.
  • Maintain and report on all shared shop equipment.
  • Responsibly manage consumable supplies and raw materials.
  • Follow ALL corporate safety requirements and standards, including but not limited to the use of welder safety equipment, protective clothing, protective lenses/goggles, steel toed boots, etc.
  • Maintain a safe and clean assigned workstation.
  • Safely operate forklift.
