Warehouse Material Handler


Position Summary

The Warehouse Materials Handler will be responsible for maintaining inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, cycle counting, delivering items, and securing the warehouse. This position is located in the warehouse section of our office building and reports to the Lead Inventory Specialist.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes customer requirements pulling and recording inventory transactions
  • Assists with the communication,workload, troubleshoots problems, interfaces with other departments to ensure cu direction and timeline management of the monthly review of the inventory process
  • Monitors inventory levels to identify the need for replenishment at or within prescribed levels
  • Monitors inventory levels, stock-outs; open order quantities that cannot be fulfilled due to items not being in stock
  • Initiates, prepares, edits, and processes requests to order appropriate supplies, materials, and/or equipment
  • Monitors and tracks orders to ensure timely receipt
  • Receives and confirms the accuracy and condition of the ordered product or service
  • Documents all receipts, secures packing slips, and matches to original purchase orders
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received by items ordered; help resolve shipments in error and/or pricing concerns with purchasing
  • Analyzes the Days Inventory on Hand Report and assists in the Planned Purchases for chemicals and medical components to order
  • Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse; coordinates inventory transfers with related departments
  • Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items
  • Recognizes and resolves quantity discrepancies
  • This position will work closely with the Site Materials Manager to ensure that inventory and warehouse processes, cycle counts and inventory accuracy to ensure the adequate management inventory
  • Perform inventory management duties to include receiving, product put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements
  • Utilize basic systems to support various inventory and chemical management systems
  • Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, Standard Operating Procedures & Work Instructions
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a working knowledge of the storeroom operation and an understanding of material requirements to support Maintenance, Planning/Scheduling, Purchasing, and Accounting Practices
  • Proficient in computer skills (MS Office products), ERP Oracle or SAP experience highly encouraged
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and industry guidelines
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceuticals/ current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven work experience in a warehouse; minimum of 4 to 5 years of distribution, warehousing, and inventory control experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current forklift license, or the ability to obtain one
