Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventive maintenance and equipment repair to ensure equipment is rentable.
  • Diagnose mechanical equipment problems
  • Communicates equipment diagnosis with supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ability to perform duties with little supervision.

 

This Service mechanic/technician role performs diagnosis, routine maintenance, and all service to ensure equipment stays operational. Our fleet operates out of 5 locations in Central and South Texas. This terminal will be transitioned into a transfer and hold for repair yard for longer out of service equipment.

Salary: $48,000.00 to $52,000.00 /year

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of experience strongly preferred
  • DOT Physical Examination (Medical card)
  • Working knowledge of individual equipment design and safety requirements
  • High level of safety consciousness
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Must be flexible regarding work assignments
  • High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
  • 1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, hydraulics,) based on role strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations)
  • AED Certified Mechanic and or ability to gain certification.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:

  • May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 50 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some assignments may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
